Doc 55 - Infringement - Car 27 - Leaving the track and gaining an advantage

Nico Hülkenberg received a 10-second penalty for leaving the track while defending and gaining a lasting advantage over Liam Lawson.

During the Sprint session, Nico Hülkenberg (Car 27) left the track at Turn 13 while defending against Liam Lawson (Car 30) and rejoined without relinquishing position, gaining a lasting advantage. The Stewards determined this a breach of B1.8.6, which prohibits gaining an advantage by leaving the track. A 10-second time penalty was issued, in line with the Driving Standards Guidelines. Video, telemetry, and in-car evidence supported the decision.
