Summary
Car 30 (Liam Lawson) reprimanded for starting the formation lap out of order.
Explanation
Liam Lawson (Car 30) was reprimanded for leaving the grid before Nico Hülkenberg (Car 27) during the formation lap, violating Article B5.6.4 of the FIA F1 Sporting Regulations. The Stewards reviewed evidence and determined that although the incorrect order occurred when crossing Safety Car Line 1, both cars started the race in correct positions with no disruption. FIA F1 Regulations - Article B5.6.4
B5.6.4 Overtaking during the formation lap is only permitted if an F1 Car is delayed and F1 Cars behind cannot avoid passing it without unduly delaying the remainder of the field. In this case, drivers may only overtake to re-establish the original starting order. Any driver delayed in this way, and who is unable to re-establish the original starting order before they reach the first safety F1 Car line, must enter the Pit Lane and start the TTCS from the end of the Pit Lane. A Stop-and-Go Penalty will be imposed on any driver who fails to enter the Pit Lane if they have not re-established the original starting order before they reach the first safety F1 Car line.
