Monaco Grand Prix • Infringement
Published Jun 6, 2026 12:17
Summary
Multiple drivers had lap times deleted in FP3 for failing to use the track at turns 1, 10, and 16.
Explanation
During Free Practice 3, several drivers—including Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton, and Valtteri Bottas—had their lap times deleted for not using the track correctly at turns 1, 10, and 16. The stewards determined this was a breach of L4.2.c (Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2c) of the FIA International Sporting Code and B1.8.6 of the FIA F1 Regulations. As a result, lap times from the affected laps were deleted per S12.4.1.e. Teams were reminded of their right to appeal within the prescribed time limits.
