Doc 40 - Post-Sprint Procedure

Canadian Grand Prix • Procedure

Published May 23, 2026 13:53

Summary

Top three Sprint finishers must follow a specific post-race procedure including weighing, interviews, and photo opportunities before proceeding to the press conference and TV pen.

Explanation

After the Sprint, the top three drivers must return to the Pit Lane near the podium where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boards are displayed. They must remain fully attired until weighed by the FIA in Parc Fermé. Following the weigh-in, interviews are conducted in Parc Fermé with an interviewer selected by the Commercial Rights Holder. A photo session occurs at the backdrop after the live interview. Drivers are then escorted by the FIA Media Delegate to the FIA Press Conference, followed by the TV pen. Drivers finishing 4th and below proceed directly to the TV pen after being weighed. Retired drivers must report to the TV pen upon returning to the paddock. Access to the designated area is restricted to team mechanics (with cooling fans if needed), officials, and FIA-approved media personnel only.
