Published

Summary

Oliver Bearman (Car 87) has been given a 5-second time penalty for an unsafe release into the path of Charles Leclerc (Car 16) during the São Paulo Grand Prix race.

Explanation

The Stewards determined that Oliver Bearman (Car 87) was released from his pit stop in an unsafe manner, directly into the path of Charles Leclerc (Car 16), who was already proceeding along the pit lane. Leclerc was forced to brake and take evasive action, being squeezed towards the pit wall. This breach of Article B1.6.2a of the FIA F1 Regulations resulted in a 5-second time penalty added to Bearman's race time.
