Summary

Liam Lawson (Car 30) is disqualified from the Provisional Qualifying Classification for breaching Articles C5.12.6 and C5.12.7 of the F1 Regulations.

Explanation

The Stewards determined that Car 30 did not comply with Articles C5.12.6 and C5.12.7 of the F1 Regulations. Evidence showed that after the control line at the end of his fastest lap in Q2, the driver did not lift off the power immediately, preventing the required rate of reduction of MGUK deployment. Despite the team's argument that no performance advantage was gained, the Stewards imposed a disqualification from the Provisional Qualifying Classifications, noting that non-compliance with Technical Regulations is not excused even if no advantage is gained.
