Summary

Max Verstappen has been given a one-grid-place penalty and one penalty point for a series of moves involving Liam Lawson during Free Practice 2.

Explanation

The Stewards found that Max Verstappen (Car 3) and Liam Lawson (Car 30) engaged in a series of moves on the entry to Turn 12 through to the apex of Turn 14 during Free Practice 2. Both drivers admitted the moves were unnecessary and 'clumsy'. The Stewards decided to impose a one-grid position penalty for the next race and one penalty point, escalating the penalty from a formal warning due to a prior warning given at the Team Managers meeting and similar incidents this year.
