Summary
Carlos Sainz received a one-lap penalty for overtaking the Safety Car when not entitled, after temporarily unlapping himself due to Silverstone's pit lane configuration.
Explanation
Carlos Sainz (Car 55) was penalised with a one-lap penalty for overtaking the Safety Car when not entitled. Although he was lapped at Safety Car Line 1, the Silverstone pit lane configuration caused him to temporarily unlap himself before the 'LAPPED CARS MAY NOW OVERTAKE' message. The team admitted two errors: misjudging his lapped status and failing to note he was excluded from the overtake message. The penalty was imposed under ISC Article 12.4.1.i.
