Doc 100 - Infringement - Car 81 - Collision with Car 23

Oscar Piastri (Car 81) received a 10-second time penalty for colliding with Alexander Albon (Car 23) at Turn 10 during the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix.

The stewards determined that Oscar Piastri, driving Car 81, was wholly to blame for a collision with Alexander Albon's Car 23 at Turn 10. The incident occurred during an overtaking attempt where Piastri did not have the right to the corner under the Driving Standards Guidelines. Evidence from positioning data, video, and in-car footage supported the decision. A 10-second time penalty was issued for breach of L4.2.d of the FIA International Sporting Code. McLaren has the right to appeal within the prescribed time limits.
